The Sounds of Jazz First
Here are some jazz standards performed by the Jazz First Trio with Joe Whalen on piano, Chris Guild on bass, and Dave Morin on drums. Except for "Witchcraft", they were recorded in April, 2009, at the Soul Shop Studios in Medford, MA [www.soulshoprecording.com].
We are very grateful to Ed Guild for arranging this session!
1. Just in Time (by Jule Styne)
2. All the Things You Are (by Jerome Kern)
3. When Sunny Gets Blue (by Jack Segal & Marvin Fisher)
4. Shiny Stockings (by Frank Foster)
5. Almost Like Being in Love (by Frederick Lowe)
6. What Is This Thing Called Love (by Cole Porter)
7. Little Girl Blue (by Richard Rodgers)

Also in the Soul Shop sessions we recorded some songs with the Glowka brothers: Bill is on tenor sax and Vic plays alto sax. These are examples of a full ensemble sound that Jazz First can provide:
1. Take the A Train (by Duke Ellington/Billy Strayhorn)
2. Robins Nest (by Charles Thompson)
3. 'S Wonderful (by George Gershwin)

Jazz First also works with vocalists!
Here are some songs performed by vocalists Debbie Nordyke and Amanda Hall, backed by the Jazz First Trio. Both were recorded at the First Church Jazz Supper Club, March 28, 2009.
1. Someone To Watch Over Me [Debbie] (by George Gershwin)
2. Take the 'A' Train [Debbie & Amanda] (by Duke Ellington/Billy Strayhorn)
